In a few hours, I leave for Lake Charles, LA for the weekend on what will be my first dedicated casino trip in nearly three months. It will be five of us going this time. Lake Charles is hardly Vegas, but the casinos offer 10/20 and 20/40 with loose-passive play, so it can still be fun.
I hope I can stay sane. Recently, I've been six-tabling six-max tables online, thereby seeing 400ish hands an hour. Going back to 30ish hands an hour in a smoke filled casino with twice the rake will probably take some adjusting. This trip has a good chance (>95%) of being less profitable than simply playing online all weekend would be, but it gets me out and about, lets me hang out with some poker buddies I haven't seen much of since I started focusing on my online play, and gives me a little refresher on live play, which is always useful. So what the heck.
Wish me luck!
