Poker Wannabe: 11/22/2004

I finally got around to adding some links. I mean, heck, it's just what the poker community needs is yet another link to 2+2. You know, just in case someone missed the other 4,765,671,332,745,894,052 that are out there. Also, I'm sure absolutely no one has heard of guinessandpoker.blogspot.com before.

One interesting thing that adding the links has done is improve my google rankings. More accurately, doing so has actually given me a google ranking. If you search under "bonus whoring", I'm number 22. But then if you change that to "bonus whoring barrel" I'm numero uno, baby! Strangely, though, my google ranking for "hot sex" isn't even in the top 1000. What the internet has to do with sex, I will never know.

Anyways, I do have a few blogs in my links now, all of which I've found interesting and/or entertaining. Some are obvious and well known, but one or two aren't so established yet. And in the near future I plan on perhaps even emailing some of them to have them link to my own blog. You know, so I'm no longer primarily just talking to myself here. One thing at a time.

A Three-Letter Word that Should be a Four-Letter Word

On another front, I may be getting a...um...er...j...jjj....jo....sigh. A j...joooo.....crap. Imightbegettingajob! Whew! There I said it.

I hate the prospect of having a job. How some people feel about losing their job--well that's how I feel about getting a job. I'm quite enjoying my current lifestyle of sleeping until 2pm, playing a lot of poker, eating a lot of food, occasionally getting some exercise and on a rare occasion, interacting with another human being.

However, I can't plan on playing poker for the rest of my life, and so I made a deal with myself--if someone were to actually come into my room and hand me a job on a silver platter, I would accept it. And goshdarn it, someone did just that! Okay, well they didn't offer me a job on a silver platter, but they did send me an email and offer me a job interview on a silver platter.

I'm obligated. The last thing I want to do is, say, play poker for three years, get bored of it and want to actually do something with my life and find out that there's no job market for a guy in his late twenties with no job experience who got his degree six years previous. Sigh.

And to make matter worse, they asked me what a good time for the interview would be. My reply was, "early to mid-afternoon." Their response, "Great, come by Tuesday at 10AM!" Gaah! So I've had to totally adjust my sleep schedule over the last couple of days to accomodate what will probably be a 30-45 minute BS session. I don't even have the job yet and I hate it already. (Note: if you are from the company I am interviewing at and have somehow found this site and figured out who I am, please be aware that I am completely joking.)

Oh well....back to the bonus whoring.
